Position Overview
Entry-level Process Engineer supporting Plant Manager in delivering benchmark packaging line results, specific focus is on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Quality, material utilization, scrap, and cost. Line ownership for daily +QDCI huddles (+=Safety, Q=Quality, D=Delivery, C=Cost, and I=Involvement). Own execution of key loss elimination action plans on the OEE gap analysis for all packaging lines.
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Develop manufacturing processes, process improvements, and provide related technical support
- Provide manufacturing support for consumer products manufacturing in and FDA/cGMP regulated environment
- The successful candidate will work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to include but not limited to manufacturing, purchasing, operational excellence, and engineering departments to manage and coordinate project activities, support existing product offerings, and identify equipment needs on the production floor
- Utilize PDCA principle to validate and maintain all manufacturing processes
- Provide production line support including, but not limited to, implementing process improvements, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing technician inquiries
- Utilize LEAN, Six Sigma, and other best practice tools and principles for day-to-day problem solving and continuous improvement
- Perform cost analysis of engineering projects assigned with the objective of reducing cost of manufacturing without impairment of quality
- Work with production leaders to train technicians on how to manufacture products, proper material routing and handling methods, new equipment/fixture operation, troubleshooting and maintenance, among other areas as well as assist in investigating and solving production problems
- Interface with other department resources (i.e. R&D, Validation, quality etc.) to successfully facilitate product launches

Required Qualifications
- 2 Year Degree or Trade School Education in an engineering discipline or mechatronics
- Relevant work experience which can include prior internships within a manufacturing and/or production environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes, Safety and 5S to identify and assist with continuous improvement
- AutoCad Experience
- Ability to take on more complex and advanced manufacturing engineering projects while balancing project management responsibilities
- Proven ability to influence, lead teams, and drive change
- Skill in working efficiently and accurately to keep up with manufacturing, and production requirements
- Flexible and adaptable in prioritizing workloads, coping with pressure, deadlines, and rapidly changing situations
- Customer-oriented, with the ability to represent engineering ideas, and designs to non-technical audiences
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be creative thinker, results-oriented, analytical mindset, and a focused problem-solve
Preferred Qualifications:
- B.S. or 4 Year degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or Automation and Mechatronics
- 2 years of relevant work experience in an FDA/cGMP regulated environment
- Knowledge of Software and programming language
- Project management experience
